世界的なCOVID-19パンデミックのスピードと規模は、世界中の医療サービスにかつてないほどのプレッシャーをもたらしており、健康危機の中で新しいサービス提供方法が必要とされている。厳しい資源の制約と患者や臨床医への感染リスクが高い状況下では、頭頸部外科腫瘍学の実践に関するコンセンサス声明を特定することが急務となっている。我々は、35 の国際的な専門学会と国内の臨床試験グループを代表する頭頸部癌外科、放射線、医学腫瘍学の国際的な専門家 40 名との 3 回のラウンドによる修正デルファイ・コンセンサス・プロセスを完了した。39 の学会および専門家団体の承認を得たこれらのコンセンサス実践勧告は、COVID-19 のパンデミックの状況下で、急性の深刻な資源制約と患者やスタッフへの感染リスクが高い状況下で、世界中の臨床家に頭頸部外科腫瘍学の実践の矛盾を減らし、ケアの不確実性を軽減し、安心感を与えることを目的としている。
The speed and scale of the global COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in unprecedented pressures on health services worldwide, requiring new methods of service delivery during the health crisis. In the setting of severe resource constraint and high risk of infection to patients and clinicians, there is an urgent need to identify consensus statements on head and neck surgical oncology practice. We completed a modified Delphi consensus process of three rounds with 40 international experts in head and neck cancer surgical, radiation, and medical oncology, representing 35 international professional societies and national clinical trial groups. Endorsed by 39 societies and professional bodies, these consensus practice recommendations aim to decrease inconsistency of practice, reduce uncertainty in care, and provide reassurance for clinicians worldwide for head and neck surgical oncology in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and in the setting of acute severe resource constraint and high risk of infection to patients and staff.
