抄録

背景:

移民ストレスには、文化的ストレス、言語の壁、差別、職業上の課題、社会からの孤立感、新しさや喪失感などのストレスが含まれる。

BACKGROUND: Immigration stress includes acculturation stress and the stress related to language barriers, discrimination, occupational challenges, and feelings of isolation from society and a sense of newness or loss.

AIMS:

本研究の目的は、米国に定住している難民の移民ストレスを調査することであった。

AIMS: The purpose of this study was to examine immigration stress among refugees resettled in the United States.

方法:

2017年の夏から秋にかけて、ユタ州で難民の背景を持つ個人から、自己記入式または面接官記入式の調査を収集した（＝190人）。

METHODS: A self-administered or interviewer-administered survey was collected from individuals with a refugee background in Utah from summer through fall in 2017 ( = 190).

結果:

高齢になるほど、経済的ストレスやホームシックのレベルが高くなりました。自己評価された健康レベルの低さと身体症状の少なさは、ホームシックと言語障害のレベルの高さと関連していた。教育水準の高さは経済的ストレスの高さと関連していた。

RESULTS: Older age was associated with higher levels of financial stress and homesickness. Poorer levels of self-rated health and fewer somatic symptoms were related to higher levels of homesickness and language barriers. Higher educational attainment was associated with higher levels of financial stress.

結論:

難民は、外国に避難し、新しい言語や異文化を素早く学ばなければならないため、脆弱な人々である。難民の多様性や、定住後の生活の質を維持するための方法について、より多くの知識を得ることが不可欠である。

CONCLUSION: Refugees are a vulnerable population due to being displaced to a foreign country and having to quickly learn a new language and different culture. It is imperative to gain more knowledge on diverse refugee groups and ways in which they can maintain optimum quality of life through and after the resettlement process.
